Caring for Your Jewellery

All Soul In Tune Tribe jewellery is intuitively designed and handcrafted with the highest loving intentions. Each piece is completely unique, so you know that what you own is made only once and cannot be recreated again.

Here's some handy tips to help you care for and preserve the life of your jewellery as long as possible, so you get many years of joy and healing energy out of it.

• Stones are naturally fragile, so be careful not to drop your jewellery on a hard surface.

• Handle with Care: Jewellery in general can be quite fragile, some pieces more than others. Be careful not to bend or pull your piece out of shape with force, as it could break.

• Keep your jewellery dry and store in a safe place.

• Copper Jewellery in particular has its own personality. No piece will stay exactly the same over time and will begin to oxidise as soon as it comes into contact with oxygen. For this reason, most copper jewellery is covered in several coats of sealer.

• It's natural for your piece to change colour over time and a sign of its graceful ageing. No need to worry  : )

• Water, chlorine from pools, or ocean water can be harsh for Jewellery, so please avoide swimming while your wearing your Jewellery, even though you want to wear all the time! 

• Please note: Stirling Silver Jewellery can go dark over time. The best way to keep Stirling Silver Jewellery shiny is to wear it often. Believe it or not, the skin oil can help maintain the silver better when worn often than keeping jewellery stored away in a box, unused! There are also specific polish products that can help Stirling Silver stay in good condition.

• Humidity, direct sunlight, cosmetics, or household chemicals can damage your jewellery. To preserve your Jewellery shelf-life, please remove before performing any outdoor activities.

• Avoid wearing clothes that can catch on your hand-made Jewellery, or take off Jewellery carefully (especially if you own a piece with dangly charms where rings may open accidently.

• Never use solvents or abrasives to clean Copper Jewellery or precious stones, as it will take off the protective coating and speed up the oxidisation process!

• If dirty, it's best to clean your jewellery piece with mild detergent in warm water and a soft cloth.

• Allow your jewellery to naturally air dry, or place it in indirect sunlight for a faster drying process and a dose of mother nature's energy.

Its also nice to "ground" your gemstone necklace... I often like to do this for Mala Yoga Necklaces (consisting of mostly gemstones and natural materials). After wear, place your necklace (gemstone/natural only, no metal) on the earth and ground, neturalising any energies that do not serve...

*PLEASE NOTE: 

If your item contains metal beads, place in an air tight sleeve or container with lid and ground in your garden in a dry place. Otherwise exposure to moisture may lead to oxidation and diminish the quality of your Jewellery greatly. 

Allow the sun and moon energies to infuse your crystals with cleansing Light.

On a Full Moon, lay out all your crystals on the ground and let the moon energy reset and charge them. It's also a nice idea to smudge your unique creation with White Sage or Palo Santo before wearing again, while setting an intention that all that doesn't serve your special piece will go with unconditional love.

You can buy Smudges such as White Sage or Palo Santo at Crystal and New Age shops or at a reputable online store.
For example, by lighting a candle and then holding your Jewellery over sage or palo santo. While you are doing this, say a quiet prayer and express one of your deep aspirations and dreams through gentle words. Once this blessing experience is complete, your handcrafted piece will become a sacred object to be treated with respect and taken care of, just as it takes care of you : )
